The Atlanta Falcons are set for a Week 4 showdown against the Green Bay Packers. It is a game that is as close to a must-win as it can possibly get this early in the season. Todd Gurley is going to be a key part of deciding what ends up happening this week.

Gurley has had a solid season thus far through three weeks with the Falcons. He has carried the football 49 times for 197 yards and two touchdowns.

Against the Packers this week, Gurley has big goals. He watched how New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara carved up the Green Bay defense. Gurley is hoping to do the same thing and revealed his goal for Week 4.

No one knows the status of Packers’ star defensive tackle Kenny Clark for this week. If he misses another game, Gurley could very well have himself a big game. Green Bay linebacker Christian Kirksey, who is a leader for the defense, has been ruled out.

Atlanta has suffered back-to-back losses, both after collapsing and failing to finish off what should have been a win. Against the Packers, they will be playing with desperation. Beating the Packers would be a major statement from the Falcons.

Todd Gurley may not be what he once was before his knee injury popped up. He was one of the most dominant running backs that the NFL has seen in recent history. However, he can still make some plays and should have a very good performance this week.

It would be reasonable to expect 85 yards and a touchdown on the ground for Gurley this week. The Packers don’t have a great run defense and the Falcons will do everything they can to take advantage of that fact.

Expect to see Gurley out to prove a point this week. He may not put up 150 total yards, but a good game on the ground is a very realistic expectation.
