5. D.J. Moore, Carolina Panthers
This pick is not as much because of the matchup, but because of how D.J. Moore is being used. The Panthers will face the Arizona Cardinals in this one. Arizona’s pass defense is good not great. If big plays are made, they might not be from Moore.
Moore has a higher target share than fellow receiver Robby Anderson, but he is not being used in the red zone. Moore has just one target in Teddy Bridgewater’s 20 pass attempts inside the 20-yard line.
Both Anderson and Mike Davis have more targets. It is unknown how the Cardinals will defend the duo of Moore and Anderson, but if Patrick Peterson is going to shadow anyone, it will be Moore.
Moore will enter this game as a very risky start, especially in non-PPR formats. If there is another receiver on your bench, this would be a time to insert him over Moore.
