Fantasy Football: Position-by-Position Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Picks for Week 12

WRs to start in Week 12

Panthers’ D.J. Moore/Robby Anderson (vs. Vikings): This past week, many people were hesitant to play D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson in fantasy football due to Teddy Bridgewater being ruled out. While Anderson had a modest 11.6 fantasy points, Moore exploded for a season-high 127 receiving yards as he scored 21.8 fantasy points. Regardless of whether or not Bridgewater returns this week — which seems likely — Moore and Anderson are worth starting against the Minnesota Vikings. Minnesota’s new-look defense just allowed Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb to combine for 30.7 fantasy points in Week 11 despite having Andy Dalton as their QB.

Dolphins’ DeVante Parker (vs. Jets): During Miami’s loss to Denver in Week 11, Brian Flores elected to bench Tua Tagovailoa in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fourth quarter. Though, Flores did announce that Tagovailoa will remain the starter for the Dolphins in Week 12. Regardless of who is QB, DeVante Parker should feast against the New York Jets this week. Even though Parker had only 6.5 fantasy points when Miami faced New York back in Week 6, the Jets have allowed a WR or TE to eclipse 100+ receiving yards in four consecutive games.

Raiders’ Nelson Agholor (vs. Falcons): Seeing that Derek Carr is worth starting this week in fantasy football, some of his pass-catchers could be worth a look as well. Besides Darren Waller, Nelson Agholor may be emerging as the No. 2 pass-catching option. Agholor just notched 20.8 fantasy versus the Chiefs, giving him 13+ fantasy points in five of his last seven games for the Las Vegas Raiders. Next up for Agholor is a Falcons defense that is giving up 43.63 fantasy points (third-most in the league) and 2,108 receiving yards (second-most in the league) to WRs.

Other WRs to consider in Week 12: Colts’ Michael Pittman Jr. (vs. Titans), Patriots’ Damiere Byrd (vs. Cardinals), Giants’ Sterling Shepard (vs. Bengals), Lions’ Marvin Jones (vs. Texans), Jaguars’ DJ Chark (vs. Browns)

WRs to sit in Week 12

Cowboys’ Michael Gallup (vs. Washington): When the season began, there was an opportunity for the Cowboys to feature three relevant WRs in fantasy football with Dak Prescott under center. But with Prescott out for the season and Dalton taking his place, Michael Gallup is seeing the most inconsistent workload of the trio. After garnering 19 targets in Weeks 8 and 9, Gallup had five in Week 11, turning them into only two receptions for 29 yards. It’s hard to envision him getting back on track against a Washington defense that is limiting WRs to a league-best 29.09 fantasy points per week.

49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk (vs. Rams): Sometimes you have to start guys with consistent volume, but there may be an exception for Brandon Aiyuk this week. The rookie wideout has earned a whopping 31 targets for the San Francisco 49ers in his past three games. However, he was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list during the team’s bye week in Week 12 and Deebo Samuel could be returning. Plus, he faces the Rams, who don’t have to worry about George Kittle this time around, which means Aiyuk may see more of Jalen Ramsey if he’s active.
