Fantasy Football: Position-by-Position Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Picks for Week 3

WRs to start in Week 3

Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb (vs. Seahawks):

Bears’ Allen Robinson (vs. Falcons): Allen Robinson has been seeking a new contract with the Bears in recent weeks to no avail so far. However, while he’s waited for a new deal to materialize, Robinson has been the go-to guy for Trubisky.

Despite having a team-high 18 target through two weeks, Robinson has only managed to record eight receptions for 107 yards and zero touchdowns. Given his aDOT of 13 yards (which is the eighth-highest among WRs who have seen 15+ targets), starting Robinson against an Atlanta Falcons defense that has allowed the second-most receiving yards (524) to opposing WRs seems like a splendid idea.

Jaguars’ D.J. Chark (vs. Dolphins): Seeing that Minshew is an ideal quarterback to start in Week 3, some of his weapons could be worth starting as well. Even though Keelan Cole has been the No. 1 pass-catcher for the Jaguars so far — and he could continue his success on Thursday — this has to be the week D.J. Chark gets going, right?

As of this moment, Chark has been targeted on only 10 percent of Minshew’s attempts, giving him the fourth-most targets in Jacksonville’s aerial attack. At the least, he’s caught all seven of his targets for 109 yards. With Jones not in coverage for the Dolphins, that gives a boost to the Jaguars WRs, especially Chark.

Other WRs to consider in Week 3: Washington’s Terry McLaurin (vs. Browns), Titans’ Corey Davis (vs. Vikings), Texans’ Brandin Cooks (vs. Steelers), Cardinals’ Christian Kirk (vs. Lions)

WRs to sit in Week 3

Panthers’ Robby Anderson (vs. Chargers): In a similar notion as having a quarterback and wide receiver both in our start section, it’s wise to pair Bridgewater with one of his top pass-catchers so far. Instead of D.J. Moore being the leading wide receiver for the Panthers, Robby Anderson leads Carolina in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns through Week 2.

When it comes to fantasy football, Anderson is actually the fifth highest-scoring wideout in the NFL right now. As good as he’s been with his new team in 2020, it’s hard to envision him continuing his success in Week 3 against a remarkable Chargers secondary that has limited opposing WRs to 286 receiving yards (ninth-fewest in the NFL).

Raiders’ Henry Ruggs (vs. Patriots): The Raiders came away with a victory over the New Orleans Saints on Monday night, giving them a surprising 2-0 record to begin the 2020 season. While Henry Ruggs was expected to produce for them right away, his role doesn’t seem like it will result in consistent production in fantasy football just yet. A certain someone — who we won’t mention by name — isn’t a quarterback that takes many shots down the field, which also hinders Ruggs’ value right now.

For the most part, Las Vegas has utilized him as a wide receiver that can keep defenses honest, stretching the field with his uncanny speed. But until he shows he can give a consistent output week-to-week, he’s best sitting on your bench unless you’re desperate at wide receiver. It also doesn’t help that he faces a tough Patriots secondary on the road in Week 3.
