Fantasy Football: Position-by-Position Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Picks for Week 5

TEs to start in Week 5

Colts’ Mo Alie-Cox (vs. Browns): To begin the season, the Colts haven’t thrown the ball as much as expected despite having Philip Rivers under center. While T.Y. Hilton and the other WRs in the offense have been lackluster due to the shortage of targets, Mo Alie-Cox has been a reliable weapon for Rivers.

Since Week 2, Alie-Cox has combined for 38.4 fantasy points and is currently the 14th highest scoring TE in fantasy football. After scoring a touchdown in each of the past two games, Alie-Cox could find himself finding the end zone again versus the Browns in Week 5. Cleveland’s defense has allowed 12 targets in the red zone (most in the NFL) and four touchdowns to TEs (tied for third-most in the NFL).

Steelers’ Eric Ebron (vs. Eagles): With Ben Roethlisberger back for the Steelers, the offense seems to be firing on all cylinders again. Everything seems to be clicking with JuJu Smith-Schuster, Diontae Johnson, and rookie Chase Claypool at wide receiver.

Aside from the wide receivers, Eric Ebron has been a decent source of offense when his numbers been called upon in the past two games. Right after George Kittle cooked the Philadelphia Eagles for 15 receptions, 183 yards, and a touchdown, Ebron will have a chance to have his best game with the Steelers in Week 5.

Other TEs to consider in Week 5: Rams’ Tyler Higbee (vs. Washington), Cowboys’ Dalton Schultz (vs. Giants)

TEs to sit in Week 5

Browns’ Austin Hooper (vs. Colts): Once again, the Browns have made it clear that their formula for winning games will be through their rushing attack. At the least, those who took Austin Hooper early in fantasy football drafts were finally rewarded with 14.4 points in Week 4.

Following his decent performance against the Cowboys, Hooper will square off against a stingy Colts secondary. The Colts are currently the only remaining team in the NFL this season that has yet to allow 100+ total yards and a single touchdown to TEs.

Bears’ Jimmy Graham (vs. Buccaneers): Upon the news that Nick Foles was starting for the Bears, some people believed that Jimmy Graham would suddenly become a consistent option in fantasy football. The pass-catching tight end would follow his 24-point showing in Week 3 with a 7.3-point outing in Week 4.

It doesn’t get much easier for Graham as he prepares to face the Buccaneers in Week 5. Tampa Bay’s secondary has been much-improved this season, allowing only 10.18 points per game to TEs so far (11th fewest in the NFL).
