Green Bay Packers: 3 Biggest Surprises Through the First Two Weeks

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Geronimo Allison, Wide Receiver

Sticking with the offensive side of the football, wide receiver Geronimo Allison has stepped up in a role that Green Bay desperately needed someone to step into. There were major questions about the wide receiver position following Nelson’s departure and Allison has fit in perfectly as the No. 3 target behind Davante Adams and Cobb.

Throughout the first two games of the season, Allison has caught 11 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown. He began coming on strong late in the 2017 season and has picked up where he left off.

Rodgers needs as many weapons to step up this season as he can get, especially with the nagging knee injury. Standing in at 6-foot-3 with great speed and athleticism, Allison has big potential. He fits perfectly into Mike McCarthy’s offense and has more potential to work his way into.

Green Bay fans are beginning to like Allison more and more. If he continues playing at his current pace, the third-year receiver is going to be headed for a nice pay raise in the near future.
