Packers’ Aaron Jones A Buy-Low Candidate In Fantasy Football

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones has gotten off to a rough start in 2023. For Fantasy Football players, he has been extremely frustrating.

Through the first five weeks of the season, Jones has carried the ball just 14 times for 59 yards and a touchdown while logging three catches for 82 yards and a score.

Of course, there have been some unfortunate variables that have limited Jones thus far.

The 28-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during the second half of the Packers’ Week 1 win over the Chicago Bears and proceeded to miss Weeks 2 and 3 as a result. He returned during Green Bay’s Week 4 loss to the Detroit Lions but was clearly not 100 percent, carrying the ball just five times for 18 yards.

Ahead of their Week 5 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders, there was a ton of optimism for Jones. Unfortunately, he ended up having a setback and was unable to play in that game.

This is good news for Fantasy Football owners who are searching for a buy-low candidate.

Jones certainly fits that mold.

Now, obviously, there is a caveat. We still don’t know how healthy Jones actually is. Hamstring issues can be tricky, and if Jones re-aggravates the injury, his season could be in jeopardy.

It should also be mentioned that the Packers’ offensive line is having some problems, as left tackle David Bakhtiari is out for the season. When Bakhtiari missed all but one game in 2021, Jones rushed for just 799 yards, so his absence could be a factor.

But all of these factors are why Jones is a buy-low option for your Fantasy Football team.

We know what Jones can do when he is right. Last season, the UTEP product rushed for 1,121 yards while catching 59 passes for 395 yards. He totaled all-purpose touchdowns. Back in 2019, Jones racked up 16 rushing scores to go along with three receiving touchdowns.

Sure, he was younger back then, but Aaron Jones’ past performances demonstrate that he is capable of putting up big numbers.
