According to a report by Zac Jackson of The Athletic, the Green Bay Packers are gearing up to welcome Michael Hall Jr., a defensive lineman from Ohio State, for an official top 30 visit in preparation for the 2024 NFL draft.

Each team has the opportunity to host up to 30 prospects for visits leading up to the draft, and the Packers are making use of this privilege. Detailed reports of such visits can be tracked via Packers Wire.

Standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 290 pounds, Hall has showcased his skills on the field, tallying impressive statistics during his tenure at Ohio State.

Over 28 games, 11 of which he started, he managed to notch 10.0 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks. His performance earned him recognition as a third-team All-Big Ten selection in 2023. Notably, his standout season was in 2022, where he boasted 7.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.

Pro Football Focus statistics indicate Hall’s effectiveness, with 29 total pressures and a pass-rush win rate of 18.3 in 2023. Despite not participating in combine testing, he did showcase his abilities at Ohio State’s pro day.

Although Hall may be considered undersized, his potential as an interior pass rusher is notable, particularly for teams utilizing a 4-3 defensive scheme.

At just 20 years old, Hall still has considerable room for growth and development, with his 21st birthday approaching in June.

With the Green Bay Packers transitioning to a 4-3 defensive front and possessing five picks in the top 100, the question arises: Could Hall be a viable Day 2 selection as a developmental three-technique player in Jeff Hafley’s defensive strategy?
