Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has been involved in a ton of trade rumors in the last few weeks. The Bears have a major decision to make, as they own the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft for the second straight year.
Last year, they opted to continue building around Fields and traded the pick to the Carolina Panthers for a haul. Fields, despite missing four games because of injury, had arguably the most productive season of his career through the air.
Will that be enough for the Bears to pass on selecting a quarterback for the second straight year? The asking price for the No. 1 pick is even higher because Caleb Williams, the presumed No. 1 pick in this year’s draft class, is a highly regarded prospect.

The Bears have given no indication about which direction they are leaning in. It would be hard to imagine them passing on the chance to select Williams, but adding another haul of assets is appealing, too.
What do Fields think about all of these rumors? He has handled things well, such as when he was questioned about not following the Bears on social media but following some players on the Atlanta Falcons offense.
Recently, he made an appearance on St. Brown Bros Podcast that was posted this week. His Bears teammate, Eqanimeous St. Brown and his brother, Detroit Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown, spoke on several topics with Fields. One was the trade rumors, where Fields admitted he hopes he doesn’t go anywhere.
“Yeah. Of course. Of course I want to stay. I can’t see myself playing in another place, but I know how the league is.
“… If it was up to me I would stay in Chicago. I love the city. The city’s lit. The fans there, they’re great. But it’s a business. I ain’t got no control over it, so whatever happens happens.”
NFL News & Rumors: Justin Fields & Chicago Bears Updates
Fields would like for the rumors to come to an end as soon as possible, so that he knows for sure what is happening. He knows the NFL is a business and understands that the front office and ownership are going to do what they believe is best for the franchise.
If that includes the Bears trading Fields, then so be it. Wherever he is in the 2024 season, he is going to do his best to help that team win as many football games as possible.
