A car registered to Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was involved in a multi-car crash in Dallas on Saturday, and the occupants of the car fled the scene.

While it has not been confirmed that Rice was involved, a Dallas police call sheet listed Rice as the person people believe was operating the vehicle.

Police have not yet officially identified anyone in the accident.

Chiefs president Mark Donovan spoke about the situation on KCMO on Monday morning.

“In all these situations you have to wait until you have all the facts and frankly, we don’t have all the facts at this point,” Donovan said, via NBC News. “The one comforting fact that we do have is that there was a multi-car crash in Texas, in Dallas, and fortunately, it doesn’t appear that anyone was hurt and we should be grateful for that. We’ll get to the bottom of it, we’ll gather the facts and we’ll react accordingly.”

Well, no major injuries were reported, but there were minor injuries. Two people were treated at the scene and two other individuals were taken to a local hospital.

Rice, who played his collegiate football at Southern Methodist, was selected by Kansas City in the second round of the NFL Draft last spring.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a terrific rookie campaign, hauling in 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns and helping the Chiefs win their second straight Super Bowl championship.

It remains to be seen what all of this means for Rashee Rice moving forward. As Donovan said, we don’t have all of the facts just yet, so it’s certainly important to collect and assess that information before passing any definitive judgment.
