Aaron Donald: 3 Tackles, 2.5 Sacks

Not much can be said about Aaron Donald that hasn’t been said already. Donald is the most dominant defensive player in the NFL and he’s doing it from the interior of the defensive line.

After his 2.5 sack performance yesterday, Donald has 12.5 sacks (1st in NFL) this year. He broke the Rams franchise-record of sacks in a season from a defensive tackle, which was previously held by D’Marco Farr.

Donald continues to be in historic territory, as he has a chance to break the all-time record for sacks from a defensive tackle in a season. The record is currently held by Keith Millard, who had 18 sacks in 1989.

This is definitely obtainable for a player as dominant as Donald. If Donald continues to get sacks at his current pace this season, he is projected to get 20 sacks.

That would be good enough for the 10th most sacks in a season in NFL history, for any position. We are looking at a hall-of-fame talent before our very eyes and it’s truly remarkable to watch.

Here’s one of Donald’s sacks from yesterday, showing his insane balance and speed in the interior.

Donald can continue his historic season in Week 11, where the Rams will be tested by the 9-1 Chiefs. The Chiefs did just allow 5 sacks against the Arizona Cardinals though, leaving room for Donald to feast next Monday.
