The Miami Dolphins met with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. last month, but nothing has come of it. At least so far.

Dolphins general manager Chris Grier provided an update on the situation with Beckham recently, stating that a deal with Beckham is not imminent, per Omar Kelly of All Dolphins. He added that the two sides exchanged offers and will leave it at that.

Wide out isn’t exactly a pressing need for Miami, as it boasts one of the best receiving duos in football in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. However, the Dolphins could use some depth at the position, and having Beckham as a third option would be nice.

Beckham is coming off of a disappointing 2023 campaign with the Baltimore Ravens in which he played 14 games and logged 35 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns.

The 31-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Ravens last year and was expected to represent a major part of their offense, but he ended up settling for the No. 2 receiver role behind Zay Flowers and did not add a whole lot to Baltimore’s aerial attack.

Beckham is far from the same player he once was.

The LSU product began his career with the New York Giants in 2014 and made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons, with his best year coming in 2015 when he hauled in 96 receptions for 1,450 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Beckham spent five years with the Giants overall before being dealt to the Cleveland Browns in 2018. He then went on to spend two-and-a-half underwhelming seasons with the Browns. He was released midway through 2021 and proceeded to sign with the Los Angeles Rams, where he won a Super Bowl.

He sat out of all of 2022 before joining the Ravens last offseason.

We’ll see if Odell Beckham Jr. ends up linking up with the Dolphins at some point.
