DeVonta Smith, Alabama

Instead of declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft as an early-entrant, DeVonta Smith elected to return to Alabama for his senior year. He will have even greater opportunity to raise his profile following the departures of Henry Ruggs III and Jerry Jeudy to the NFL this offseason.

It seems Smith was overlooked at times by experts but his production was highly impressive for the Crimson Tide in 2019. He trailed only Jeudy when it came to catches (68) but managed to lead the team in receiving yards (1,256) and receiving touchdowns (14).

While Smith stands at 6-1, he needs to add more weight before entering the NFL. He already displays impressive ability to make things happen in space by making defenders miss coupled with an intriguing talent for separating from defensive backs with his route-running.

It should come with no surprise that the expectation currently is that Smith ends up being selected in the opening round of the 2021 NFL Draft. There is certainly room for him to move up the rankings among the elite prospects at his position by adding muscle ahead of the NFL Scouting Combine.
