Force Eagles into Turnovers
The Giants have enough talent on defense that they should be coming away with takeaways.
So far this year, they’ve struggled forcing turnovers. Through five weeks, they currently have just five total takeaways (tied 23rd in the NFL).
It doesn’t help when your offense has turned it over eight times, giving you a turnover differential of -3. In this sense, the Giants want to take more than they give.
In Week 5, the Giants actually came away with two interceptions on Cam Newton. Despite losing, getting those two turnovers helped keep them in a game they had no business being close in.
The Panthers stuck the dagger in the Giants, winning on a 63 yard, game-winning field goal by Graham Gano.
It was a disheartening loss, but it showed by making plays on both sides of the ball, they can stick around with better teams.
This week, the Giants are taking on the Eagles, who have turned the ball over nine times this season (tied fifth most in NFL).
If the Giants can force a couple of turnovers, they could see themselves in a position to win the game.
