The New York Giants have some major decisions to make this offseason in Year 3 of the Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll era. Figuring things out at the quarterback position is imperative, as Daniel Jones is coming off of a terrible season that ended early because of a torn ACL.

They have said once he is healthy, Jones will be the starter. Slated to pick at No. 6 in the 2024 NFL Draft, this could be Schoen and Daboll’s only chance to pick a quarterback of their own to develop with the Giants.

However, regardless of who is under center for the Giants, they need to continue upgrading the weapons around them. New York isn’t overflowing with household names at wide receiver, but this is a better group than people give them credit for.

Wan’Dale Robinson has had moments in his first two seasons outside of a torn ACL. Darius Slayton isn’t a prototypical No. 1 but he has been consistently productive for Big Blue in his career. 2023 third-round pick Jaylin Hyatt is a big play waiting to happen that needs to be involved more.

While the group is lacking a bonafide, No. 1 option, another thing missing is some size. New York relied on a lot of smaller wide receivers that profile more as slot receivers than ones playing on the boundary. Michael Pittman Jr. is set to hit free agency after a career season with the Indianapolis Colts. He has proven capable of filling that No. 1 receiver role and would be a great fit in New York. Over at PFF, the Giants have been listed as a potential landing spot for the 2020 second-round pick.

“New York traded a third-round pick for tight end Darren Waller last offseason, but that experiment may already be a failure as he struggles to manage a nerve issue with his hamstring. The Giants have plenty of speed and slot receivers, please get Daniel Jones a big target on the outside,” wrote Brad Spielberger.

Last season, Pittman caught 109 passes for 1,152 yards and four touchdowns. He is everything the Giants need at the wide receiver position, but it certainly won’t be cheap to acquire is services. Plenty of teams around the NFL will show interest in him, including the Colts, who should do everything in their power to retain him.
