As the New York Giants look for their future at quarterback, an interesting name is becoming a possible option. The Dallas Cowboys and their star quarterback Dak Prescott might be on the verge of a separation.

Despite assurances of their commitment to Prescott, the Cowboys have yet to secure a contract extension for him, indicating a potential willingness to let things unfold. This could pave the way for the 30-year-old quarterback to hit unrestricted free agency next March.

In such a scenario, ESPN’s Adam Schefter suggests that numerous teams in need of a quarterback could aggressively pursue Prescott away from the Cowboys.

One team that Schefter points out as a potential landing spot for Prescott is the New York Giants.

“Dak, to me, is a really good quarterback. So, if and when he becomes a free agent next year, Dallas may want him back but… there might be a quarterback-needy team — Giants, Commanders — who knows. We can go through the list right now. There will be no shortage of suitors for Dak Prescott as a true unrestricted free agent on the open market.”

If the Giants opt not to select a quarterback in the 2024 NFL draft, though it appears unlikely, they could find themselves in need of one again just 11 months later. With a potential out in Daniel Jones’ contract, they could seize the opportunity to reset their quarterback situation.

Could they be eyeing a combination of a seasoned veteran like Prescott alongside a rookie quarterback? It’s a possibility worth considering, especially with Schefter raising the question.

Needless to say, it would be strange to see Dak Prescott in a New York Giants jersey. The rivalry between the Giants and Cowboys would also rise to a new level.
