Mitchell Trubisky, Chicago Bears
Bold Prediction 1: Trubisky will hit Allen Robinson for multiple touchdowns
After the Lions sent Darius Slay to the Eagles for picks, it was not a surprise they drafted his replacement in Jeffrey Okudah in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, the star rookie has had some issues early on in camp.
While that is no reason for Lions fans to panic, he will not be starting Week 1. After no preseason and a camp like no other, this is probably smart. Especially because the Bears have one of the games best receivers in Allen Robinson.
Look for Trubisky to lean on Robinson in the passing game. Robinson should deliver with two touchdowns and a hot start to his contract year Week 1.
Bold Prediction 2: Trubisky will lead the Bears in rushing yards
One aspect of Trubisky’s game that has been excellent thus far has been his ability to scramble. Trubisky is a very smart runner, using his athleticism when needed to pick up big yards. While the Bears’ defense is fit to shut down opposing running games, it is hard to key in on scrambling QB’s.
Trubisky may make more plays with his legs than his arm in this one. He will have over 50 rushing yards, which could lead all Bears rushers.
Final Word: Mitchell Trubisky has been a disappointing prospect for Chicago thus far. However, the extra competition may have been the boost he needs. If Trubisky does well, then the Bears could be a playoff contender. On the other hand, if he struggles early on, Chicago may turn to Nick Foles to try and lead them towards the playoffs.
