Mitchell Trubisky, Chicago Bears
Heading into the 2020 NFL season, the expectation is that Matt Nagy will give Mitchell Trubisky the opportunity to begin the year as the starter. However, with veteran quarterback Nick Foles being acquired via trade this offseason, the pressure is at an all-time high for the young quarterback.
Trubisky had a very rough 2019 season with the Bears. Chicago went from being viewed as a Super Bowl contender to missing the playoffs entirely.
Chicago still has hope that Trubisky will turn things around and remain the long-term starter. But, the fact that Ryan Pace and company went out and acquired Foles is not the biggest sign of confidence in the young signal caller.
The Bears are going to need to see a lot of positive things from Trubisky right off the bat this season. If he is unable to do so, Foles will get a chance to unseat him in the starting lineup.
