Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders
Let’s start this list off with one of the most obvious candidates. Derek Carr is entering a make or break season with the Raiders. The franchise went out and signed quarterback Marcus Mariota to be Carr’s backup, but there is a very real chance Carr could end up being replaced by him.
Mariota may have had some consistency issues to this point in his career, but he was signed for a reason. Las Vegas feels he can still play at a high level if called upon.
Carr has a lot more weapons to work with this season. Henry Ruggs III was drafted by the Raiders in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft to join Tyrell Williams and Hunter Renfrow as the top three wideouts. Las Vegas also has talented tight end Darren Waller on the roster.
This is a big season for Carr and it’s time for him to put everything together.
