Brian Burns
There’s no doubt that the Carolina Panthers were one of the most disappointing teams in 2019. But while the team faltered, Brian Burns provided some optimism for the future in his rookie season with the Panthers.
As Carolina’s first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Burns tallied 7.5 sacks, 16 quarterback hits, and one forced fumble. However, to make those numbers even more impressive, Burns saw a limited role behind veterans Mario Addison and Bruce Irvin.
With Addison and Irvin signing elsewhere in free agency, Burns will get a chance to show why he was a first-round pick a year ago. Even though he didn’t receive a full workload in 2019, Burns showed that he has the tools to be a lethal edge rusher for years to come.
