As the 2023 NFL Draft continues to draw closer, there are a ton of rumors and rumblings surrounding the Minnesota Vikings. Will Dalvin Cook be back? No one knows. Another question mark remains about the quarterback position.

Rumors have been swirling over the last couple of weeks that the Vikings have considered moving on from Kirk Cousins. Other reports have stated that they are planning to stick with Cousins.

Now, one NFL analyst has proposed a wild idea for the Vikings in the upcoming draft. Mina Kimes of ESPN boldly stated that the Vikings should consider making a blockbuster trade up for Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson.

“If you’re willing to do that, then you should really consider just trading up for Anthony Richardson.”

Minnesota trading up for Richardson actually makes a ton of sense. They could still keep Cousins for one more season, or they could dump him and move on. Richardson is one of the most athletically gifted quarterbacks that we have seen in NFL history and could give the Vikings an even more electric offense.

If the Vikings do want to move up to get Richardson, they would likely have to jump the Indianapolis Colts, who have the No. 4 overall pick. That would leave the Arizona Cardinals, who hold the No. 3 pick, as the most likely trade partner.

All of that being said, Richardson heading to the Vikings would be something that fans should want to see. He would team up with Justin Jefferson and give fans arguably the most electrifying and athletic quarterback-wide receiver duo in the NFL. Will it happen? Only time will tell.
