CeeDee Lamb is the Real Deal

There was a substantial amount of buzz surrounding the Dallas Cowboys when they decided to use the No. 17 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to bring in CeeDee Lamb. Many were expecting the team to force a selection for an area of need like edge rusher or cornerback.

Since the selection, many have pointed to the Cowboys’ potential as an offense with three genuinely impactful receivers now all in the mix between Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and Lamb. Despite so much other talent at this position, Lamb has stood out in training camp.

Let’s not forget, the staff writers for DallasCowboys.com listed the rookie wideout as the Cowboys’ top performer at the position during the team’s training camp. Lamb has made big play after big play, giving plenty of reason to believe in his immediate impact.

“In terms of electrifying practices, Lamb was voted as the best receiver in camp. He routinesly turns out a highlight-reel catch and has the ability of doing it in a variety of ways. Lamb even caught a screen pass that was way behind his head but used his left hand to snag it and keep running his route. He’s made plays over the middle and definitely down the field. Lamb has shown the ability to get open in the red zone as well. Overall, he’s made play after play and is living up tot he hype of being the Cowboys’ first-round pick and the next in line to wear No. 88.

The role Lamb is expected to primarily play is out of the slot. He will go above and beyond replacing the involvement Randall Cobb had within the Cowboys’ offense last season operating out of this area. Additionally, Lamb could return punts to get more involved in the open field.

The hype appears to be real when it comes to Lamb and in turn, the Cowboys’ offense will be very tough to stop as a whole. The unit was already one of the most productive statistically in 2019and now are more supercharged heading inot the upcoming season.
