Scotty Miller as the Bucs’ No. 3 receiver

A lot changed during the NFL offseason and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers arguably were the greatest example with the addition of long-time New England Patriots star Tom Brady. With Brady came Rob Gronkowski, despite being previously retired.

Much of the attention for the Buccaneers’ receiving corps is placed on Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, and for good reason as they are arguably the NFL’s top receiver duo. There was a need for Tampa Bay to establish their supporting cast behind the two and Scotty Miller has seized the opportunity.

The impact Miller has made for the Buccaneers in training camp has been noticed by Brady. In fact, the NFL legend recently called the second-year wideout a ‘trustworthy player’ and going further by stating Miller ‘deserves a big role.’

“He’s just another great, consistent, dependable, trustworthy player,” Brady said, via Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston. “Everything we talk about, he retains, and he takes it to the next practice. He’s displaying things and he’s showing to everybody that he deserves a big role.

“You can trust where he’s going to be, he makes the plays when they come his way. He’s really been fun to work with and fun to see grow from the day that I got here.”

It will be fascinating to see how the Buccaneers’ offense will perform during the 2020 season. With Miller emerging as what appears to be a legitimate contributor alongside Godwin and Evans, there is substantial potential for the unit as a whole.

Having depth is crucial for any team looking to make a run at the Super Bowl and the Buccaneers are starting to showcase their passing attack has that. As long as Brady can continue to play at a high-level, watch out for Tampa Bay.
