Philadelphia Eagles
The clear-cut focus in the Philadelphia Eagles’ backfield will be the dynamic Miles Sanders. There is still a need to add a veteran complement into the mix and an option like Devonta Freeman would be a clean fit for that role.
When looking at the currently backup running back options on the Eagles’ roster, it’s clear they are underwhelming. For reference, Corey Clement is a solid pass catcher but isn’t an impactful enough threat on carries. Meanwhile, Boston Scott isn’t an answer either.
While Freeman wasn’t nearly as good last season as he has been in the past, he’s still a three-down back. It would be advantageous to have a skill-set of this kind considering there is always potential for a starting running back to go down with an injury.
