The coronavirus pandemic has made it a bit more difficult for some free agents to find a new team this offseason, with some notable names still available. While it may be surprising to some, Tramon Williams is one of the best cornerbacks that remains unsigned in NFL free agency.
Back in 2018, Williams elected to reunite with the Green Bay Packers after having short stints with the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns. The Louisiana Tech product would start all 16 games for the Packers in 2018, tallying 54 tackles, two pass breakups, and a fumble recovery.
Then, in 2019, Williams had a resurgence of sorts, putting together one of the best seasons of his career in recent memory. Even though he wouldn’t start in all 16 games, Williams would record eight pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, and two interceptions. Also, the veteran cornerback would allow a 52.2 percent catch rate (eighth-best in the NFL) and a passer rating of 82.9 when he was targeted (seventh-best in the NFL).
Despite turning 37 years old earlier this year, there is a slew of NFL teams that could benefit from adding Williams this offseason. With that in mind, let’s take a look at four ideal landing spots for Williams in 2020.
