The tight end position has undergone significant change for the Washington Redskins since the start of the season. Between the decision to release Jordan Reed and the retirement of Vernon Davis, there is a need for proven talent at this position.

It may be a tough sell to move on from Reed due to durability concerns to then sign Delanie Walker considering he’s dealt with the same. That’s just how the market has played out for the Washington Redskins in an offseason with underwhelming options.

Having a veteran tight end like Walker in the offense would help Dwayne Haskins by serving as a relief option. It’s important to consider since the receiving corps in Washington’s offense is underwhelming outside of Terry McLaurin.
