2. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have entered a full transition period. Like Miami, the Chargers have drafted what they hope if their franchise quarterback in Justin Herbert. Philip Rivers is in Indianapolis and the team is officially rebuilding.
At running back, Melvin Gordon is now with the Denver Broncos, leaving Austin Ekeler as the lead back. Ekeler is a solid back. He is a PPR fantasy football dream, but it is unknown how he will carry the load by himself in the backfield.
This is where Aaron Jones comes into play. Ekeler is used to being a receiving back and thriving at his job. Gordon got most of the carries during his time with the Chargers and the system worked well. This is the versatility that Jones could bring to the team. He is a strong runner with the ability to be used as a receiver. Having options like that in the backfield would make Herbert’s job easier.
If Jones is affordable, the Chargers could opt to bring him in. Jones would fit in well with their scheme and what they like to do.
