NFL Free Agency 2021: 5 way-too-early landing spots for Derrick Henry

The Washington Redskins are in dire need of a consistent ground game. While they will enter the 2020 season with the services of Adrian Peterson and Derrius Guice, the ‘Skins can not afford to rest their playoff hopes on either. With new coach Ron Rivera looking to bring back smash-mouth football, the ‘Skins should have their eyes on Derrick Henry in 2021.

In 2019, the Redskins finished the season ranked 31st in rushing attempts, 23rd in yards, and 26th in rushing touchdowns. At the same time, Henry led the NFL in rushing yards, rushing attempts, and rushing touchdowns.

In order for the Redskins to become contenders, they will need to find a balance between the passing and ground game. The NFC East is solid on the ground except for the Redksins. If Guice can stay healthy this season, then maybe the ‘Skins will have their back of the future. But if he goes down, yet again, Rivera would be wise to look elsewhere for production.
