Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons are hoping that Todd Gurley can have a bounce-back season in 2020. If not, they will surely let him walk when he becomes a free agent in 2021. This would be one of the easiest decisions for Derrick Henry if he doesn’t resign with the Tennessee Titans.
As long as the Falcons can keep QB Matt Ryan and receiver Julio Jones in uniform, the trio of Henry, Jones, and Ryan should be enough to make a run in the NFC and possibly further. In 2019, the Falcons finished the season ranked 29th in rushing attempts and 30th in rushing yards.
Their backfield was more speed then between the tackle runners with Devonta Freeman and Brian Hill. What Henry will bring to the team is a bruiser who could move the chains as Henry averaged 5.1 yards per carry.
A force that big will open up the passing lanes for Ryan and Jones. But this all comes down to what the Falcons will do with their two stars. Another disappointing season and the front office may be forced to mover either Ryan or Jones. If Gurley does have a good year and the Falcons make the playoffs, then a rebuild may be stalled off, thus making the way for Henry to arrive.
