The Kansas City Chiefs may be 5-1, and they may be sitting in first place in the AFC West, but after the first six weeks of the season, it’s pretty clear they need a wide receiver. ESPN NFL insider Mike Graziano sees a potential solution for the Chiefs: Denver Broncos wide out Jerry Jeudy.

The Broncos are just 1-5 and are going nowhere fast, and all indications are that they will be selling off some pieces between now and the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline.

Jeudy is viewed as one of the prime potential candidates to be dealt.

The 24-year-old has been a bit of disappointment since being selected by Denver with the 15th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, failing to register a 1,000-yard campaign thus far.

His best season came last year, when he hauled in 67 receptions for 972 yards and six touchdowns. Through the first six games of 2023, he has logged 20 catches for 222 yards.

Still, Jeudy would certainly represent an upgrade over what the Chiefs currently employ in their receiving corps.

Rashee Rice and Justin Watson are Kansas City’s top two wide outs in terms of production this season, but neither are No. 1-caliber receivers.

Not that Jeudy is a No. 1, because he isn’t, but he would nevertheless bolster a Chiefs group of receivers that has struggled to get going this year.

Many hoped that Skyy Moore would develop into a major deep threat for Patrick Mahomes, but he has been a relative non-factor thus far, registering just 11 grabs for 145 yards.

Jeudy also has another year left on his deal after this season, so Mahomes would have a chance to build some rapport with Jerry Jeudy not only for 2023, but also for the future.

Kansas City will host the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday.
