Before the NFL’s AFC Championship Game commenced, tension flared between Baltimore Ravens cornerback Arthur Maulet and Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson.

The two were engaged in heated trash talk during the pregame, captured by CBS’s cameras. The situation escalated when Watson confronted Maulet face-to-face, leading Maulet to swipe at Watson while being restrained.

This wasn’t the only pregame altercation involving the Ravens and Chiefs players. Baltimore’s kicker, Justin Tucker, was embroiled in a psychological battle with Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Tucker was attempting to practice amidst Mahomes and Kelce’s warmups.

The situation turned contentious when Mahomes displaced Tucker’s ball holder, and Kelce tossed the kicking balls and Tucker’s helmet away from the goal line.

The Chiefs, current Super Bowl champions and participants in their sixth straight AFC Championship Game, are eyeing a repeat victory to become the first team to achieve back-to-back titles since the New England Patriots in the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
