Bears – Who Will Be The Starting QB?
It’s clear that trading up to select Mitch Trubisky at No. 2 in the 2017 draft wasn’t the best decision Bears GM Ryan Pace has made.
Trubisky has struggled to adjust in the NFL and now might be getting bumped out of the starting job. The Bears went and traded to get Nick Foles from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Foles only appeared in four games in 2019, having suffered a fractured left clavicle.
The lack of trust in Trubisky seems to go back to Week 11 when he was benched late in a game against the Los Angeles Rams with the Bears only down by 10. Coach Matt Nagy elected to go with Chase Daniels for the final two offensive possessions and appeared to have a heart-to-heart with Trubisky on the sideline.
Trubisky will have a competition for the starting job for the first time in Chicago. It really isn’t clear which QB will be named the start for Week 1. Regardless, Nagy needs to figure out who his QB will be if the Bears want to get back to the postseason.
