Packers – Who Is The No. 2 WR?

The Green Bay Packers have one of the greatest QBs in Aaron Rodgers and one of the best wide receivers in Davante Adams. However, when it comes to the rets of the weapons in the passing game, it’s a big dropoff.

The Packers had a chance to take a high-end WR in the 2020 NFL Draft. Instead they drafted Rodger’s replacement. In fact, they didn’t take any wide receivers at all in what was regarded as one of the deepest wide receivers classes in NFL history.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen Lazard currently are the candidates for that spot. Lazard surprised people last season with his performance and the trust he seemed to gain from Rodgers. Valdes-Scantling took a slight step back last season from 2018, with less receptions, yards and targets in 2019.

The Packers had brought in Devin Funchess in free agency, but he opted out of the season for personal reasons. With no rookies to groom, the options are limited for Rodgers but both Valdes-Scantling and Lazard will need to take their game to the next level if they’re going to be the No. 2 option for Rodgers.
