NFL: One glaring weakness for each team in the NFC West entering 2020

Los Angeles Rams — Offensive line

Similar to the Arizona Cardinals, the Los Angeles Rams also suffered some issues along the offensive line a season ago.

While Los Angeles allowed a league-low 22 sacks, Jared Goff was constantly under duress due to the injuries and lackluster play in the trenches. Last offseason, the Rams decided to let Rodger Saffold depart in free agency.

At the same time, they instilled confidence in Joseph Noteboom and Brian Allen to improve the interior offensive line. Instead of getting the results they wanted, Los Angeles saw Goff get hurried 52 times (15th most in the NFL) and he was hit 48 times (10th most in the NFL).

Seeing that the Rams didn’t make any notable moves on the offensive line — outside of re-signing Andrew Whitworth — there are reasons for concern for the offense in 2020. Along with Whitworth, Los Angeles believes Rob Havenstein, and Austin Blythe can be reliable members along the offensive line.

On the other hand, the two guard spots are to be determined for the Rams. With that being said, for the Rams to return to being the NFC West victors again, they’ll need their offensive line to give Goff a cleaner pocket next season.
