NFL: One glaring weakness for each team in the NFC West entering 2020

Joe Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

Arizona Cardinals — Offensive line

Once again, the Arizona Cardinals are expected to make vast improvements on the offensive side of the ball with the addition of DeAndre Hopkins.

Besides Hopkins, Arizona boasts a lethal arsenal of weapons that includes the likes of Christian Kirk, Larry Fitzgerald, and Kenyan Drake. But for the offense to reach the lofty expectations they’ve been given, they’ll need to do a much better job at keeping Murray upright in the pocket.

In his rookie season with the Cardinals, Murray was sacked a total of 48 times. Altogether, Arizona’s offensive line surrendered 50 sacks, which was tied for the fifth-most in the NFL.

While the Cardinals re-signed D.J. Humphries and took Josh Jones in the 2020 NFL Draft, there are still question marks pertaining to the team’s offensive line.

Nevertheless, if Arizona can give Murray more time to throw and keep him clean as much as possible, they could find themselves competing for the NFC West crown in 2020.
