1. Baltimore Ravens
Notable members of the secondary: Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters, Tavon Young, Jimmy Smith, Earl Thomas, Chuck Clark
When merely looking at depth, the Baltimore Ravens have the best secondary in the NFL. You might as well call them the primary unit instead of the secondary unit (I’ll show myself out). Marlon Humphrey is an All-Pro caliber cornerback and he’s joined by two-time All-Pro Marcus Peters at cornerback. Not to mention, the Ravens still have Jimmy Smith and are getting Tavon Young back at nickel cornerback in 2020.
While Smith could play some safety in 2020, Baltimore is seemingly set at both safety spots with Earl Thomas and Chuck Clark. Thomas proved he is still one of the premier safeties in the NFL last season and Clark flashed some potential when Tony Jefferson went down with an injury in 2019.
Even though the Ravens are already stacked in the secondary, they’ve been rumored as one of the favorites to land Jamal Adams via trade. In the event that Baltimore somehow manufactures a trade for Adams, they’d be the No. 1 secondary in the NFL by an even wider margin entering the 2020 campaign.
