5. Buffalo Bills
Notable members of the secondary: Tre’Davious White, Josh Norman, Taron Johnson, Levi Wallace, Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer
In the past two seasons, Sean McDermott has helped turn the Buffalo Bills into a defensive juggernaut in the AFC East. While the Bills have finished as a top-three defense in yards allowed since 2018, their secondary has been the strongest link on their defense.
Led by Tre’Davious White — who doesn’t get nearly the praise he deserves — Buffalo also has an underrated safety duo of Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde. Also, earlier this offseason, the Bills added veteran Josh Norman into the mix. Norman’s best years came when he played in McDermott’s defense with the Carolina Panthers.
Alongside White and Norman, Taron Johnson or Levi Wallace figure to slot in as Buffalo’s nickel cornerback next season. If Norman shows any semblance of being a similar cornerback that he once was, the Bills could definitely be on their way to their third consecutive season as a top-three defense when it comes to yards allowed.
