The Packers sorely missed having a productive tight end last season, and their passing offense suffered as a result. They averaged just 233.2 passing yards per game, good for 17th in the NFL.
Bringing in a solid tight end like Hooper could add a whole new dimension to Matt LaFleur’s offense. Aside from DaVante Adams, the Packers don’t really have another legit pass catching threat.
At times, their offense became predictable and one-dimensional last season. This is mostly due to the fact that they only had one play maker on the outside, making it easier for defenses to diagnose plays.
Hooper’s just entering his prime in the NFL as well, so he could potentially provide Green Bay with four to five years of productivity at tight end.
He’s a clear upgrade over what the Packers have at tight end now and he would give Rodgers another weapon to play with. Signing Hooper should be a no-brainer for the Packers this offseason.
