Julian Edelman, Wide Receiver

Another need that the Packers surprisingly didn’t end up addressing much this offseason is another playmaking wide receiver. Green Bay did sign Devin Funchess in free agency and Reggie Begelton, but neither of those guys adds the star power that Aaron Rodgers needs.

Davante Adams is one of the top wide receivers in the NFL, but adding Julian Edelman would change the game for the Packers.

Matt LaFleur was missing a true slot wide receiver last season. Many thought the Packers could check in on bringing back Randall Cobb this offseason. Edelman would be a much better option and a dream scenario for Green Bay.

Acquiring a guy like Edelman would take the Packers’ offense to the next level. Rodgers would be happy and Green Bay’s Super Bowl chances would increase dramatically.

  1. The only one I’d think about is Hightower. And that’s pushing it.

The other two, no way. Edelman would go to Tampa before coming to GB. He still might.

Why Gilmore? We have a good secondary. Only Hightower makes any sense, and GB can’t afford it.
