The ability to force a defense into what an offense wants to do is why Gabriel makes even more sense.
In the LaFleur scheme he would most likely play in the slot position. The slot position allows him to work the underneath routes, the middle of the field, and most of all to take the top off the defense. The latter forces defenses to play their secondary deeper in coverage and opens many opportunities for other players.
Play action passes are built into the LaFleur scheme and allows a players with speed to get behind the defense. Gabriel could be that factor on play action passes that a healthy Randall Cobb once was for Green Bay.
