Decision Making

Being a good decision-maker in the NFL at QB won’t make you the most well-known QB in the NFL, but it will certainly help you as a QB overall. Unfortunately, for the Packers, and Jordan Love, he struggles greatly with decision making

Love is a very confident QB who believes that he can make any throw on the football field, but with that confidence comes many errors. There will often be times in which Love will have a receiver covered tightly, but still decide to throw the ball into tight coverage. At times, Love gets away with these throws because of his great arm talent, but for the most part, he makes major errors attempting these throws.

Love can get away with these passes more often in college because the college talent that he faces is not nearly at the level of NFL players that he will encounter. Throwing these kinds of throws in the NFL will result in many more pass breakups for Love, as well as interceptions thrown.

Love will always be a very confident and aggressive player, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be a smarter decision-maker. Many current QBs, like Packers current QB Aaron Rodgers, is aggressive, but still can recognize a good decision from a bad one, and if Love can learn this from Rodgers, it will help unlock his immense potential
