Aaron Rodgers Is Still A Great QB
Last season was the first year where the offense wasn’t built entirely around Aaron Rodgers. Under Matt LeFleur, the Packers’ offense was as efficient as ever.
While Rodgers didn’t produce the eye-popping numbers we have grown accustomed to, he was incredibly efficient. Rodgers struggled against the 49ers, however, the loss wasn’t solely on him. This season, the entire team is hungry.
Green Bay didn’t draft any weapons to help Aaron Rodgers. This isn’t surprising, throughout his entire career the only first-round pick he’s thrown a touchdown to is Mercedes Lewis. The beauty in Rodgers’ game is that he elevates the play of everyone around him.
While many look at Green Bay drafting Jordan Love as the beginning of the end for Rodgers, I look at it as an opportunity. Rodgers is at his best when others doubt him. He has played with a chip on his shoulder throughout most of his career.
After so much praise in recent years, it is only natural Rodgers likely felt a bit too comfortable. This season is different as he will be out to prove that he isn’t winding down and will look to stack up with the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, and Lamar Jackson in 2020.
