Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Best Performances from Week 7 Loss vs. Panthers

Carson Wentz, Philadelphia Eagles

Carson Wentz, Quarterback

Speaking of Carson Wentz, he was the absolute top performer for the Eagles against the Panthers. The likely NFL MVP before tearing his left ACL last season, Wentz returned to action in Week 3 and has shown improvement each week.

On Sunday, Wentz completed 30 of 37 passes for 310 yards and two TDs. His passer rating was an incredible 119.6, and he has now gone four weeks without throwing an interception while tossing nine TDs in that span.

Wentz did lose a fumble, but that was more on his offensive line than anything. He was sacked four times as well due to increased pressure from the Panthers’ defense down the stretch.

If Philadelphia doesn’t start winning more consistently, Wentz may find himself out of the running for the MVP this season. But he certainly seems to be playing at that type of level again as the Eagles try to turn things around moving forward.
