Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Best Performances from Week 7 Loss vs. Panthers

Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles

Zach Ertz, Tight End

Alshon Jeffery wasn’t the only pass catcher to enjoy a strong performance for the Eagles, as trusty tight end Zach Ertz also played extremely well. Not only did Ertz receive a team-high 11 targets, but he also caught a game-high nine passes for 138 yards.

About the only thing Ertz didn’t do on Sunday was make it into the end zone. I think the Eagles will forgive him for that, though, as he already has 57 catches for 618 yards this season.

Ertz is clearly one of the top pass catchers in the NFL. He made the Pro Bowl last year and will likely be named a Pro Bowler again this season.

Obviously Ertz is more concerned about trying to get the Eagles back to the Super Bowl. However, that’s still a heck of an accomplishment. Despite Sunday’s loss, he once again proved to be an awesome security blanket for quarterback Carson Wentz.
