The Pittsburgh Steelers are poised to bolster their quarterback lineup as they gear up for the 2024 season.
Reports suggest that the team is uncertain about committing to Kenny Pickett as their starting quarterback and is therefore looking to add a seasoned veteran to their roster.
Rumors indicate that the Steelers have their sights set on signing free agent Ryan Tannehill.
“With new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, the expectation is Pittsburgh will explore adding free agent Ryan Tannehill, who had his best years with the Titans while Smith was the OC there.”
The 35-year-old quarterback, who has been a fixture in the NFL since 2012, most recently played for the Tennessee Titans starting from 2019. Tannehill’s impressive comeback in 2019 earned him the prestigious NFL Comeback Player of the Year award.
As the 2024 offseason approaches, the Steelers are expected to pursue Tannehill, aiming to inject experience and leadership into their quarterback position.
While this wouldn’t be a move that moves the needle much for the Pittsburgh Steelers, it would be a move that could light a fire under Pickett. That should be the Steelers’ main motivation this offseason with any quarterback move they make.
