What To Expect From Jaire Alexander In 2020

At just 23 years old, Alexander hasn’t even scratched the surface of his full potential. That alone should strike fear in opposing offenses. He is one of the top up-and-coming star cornerbacks in the game and has tons of room to grow.

Obviously, the 17 defended passes from 2019 is an impressive number. He is known as a top-notch cover corner and can stick with most star wideouts.

During the 2019 season, Kevin King stayed healthy and played an impressive role for the Packers. He racked up 66 total tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, five interceptions, and 15 defended passes.

With both King and Alexander on the field, the Packers have one of the top cornerback duos in the game. If Alexander can take another step in his development, opposing quarterbacks are going to have a nightmare matchup.

Predicting the 2020 season for Alexander isn’t an easy task. However, there are some reasonable expectations that can be set for him.

Alexander should be able to come through with around 60 total tackles, a forced fumble or two, four interceptions, and 20 defended passes. His interception total could be even more than that depending on how the football bounces. The fact of the matter is that Alexander is going to be a Pro Bowler this year.

The Packers have all of the pieces put together to have an elite defense. They have Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith, and Rashan Gary rushing the quarterback with Kenny Clark clogging up the middle. Christian Kirksey could end up being a major free agency steal at linebacker.

Mike Pettine is going to have a lot of fun with his defense this season. He is going to put a ton of pressure on the quarterback and let his talented secondary force turnovers. Alexander will be a major winner of that defensive mindset.
