Predicting the NFC South Standings in 2020: Training Camp Edition

The defending champs reign supreme. One of the biggest things the Saints have going for them this year is the continuity. With Carolina and Tampa Bay making quarterback switches there is more potential to take time to really find their stride.

With a division as loaded as the NFC South, time is not a benefit these teams will have. Building an identity and establishing a groove will cost the other teams in the division when they take on a well-oiled machine like New Orleans.

The Saints are returning their quarterback, one of the best offensive lines in football, and a talented receiving group led by Michael Thomas. Thomas set records last year and will look to build on an incredible performance. His chemistry with future hall of famer Drew Brees is a special thing to watch and is a big reason both players put up such high numbers. Add in a strong defense returning to New Orleans and this is the team to beat.

Things will not be as easy as they were in 2019 however. With an entire division that could make a push towards the playoffs, each game is going to be a battle. While there are major improvements by some of the other players in the NFC South, none of them are good enough to catch the Saints.
