No Big Plays Allowed
One thing that keeps the Chiefs offense rolling is their uncanny ability to create big plays. Through 10 weeks, they lead the NFL in 25+ yard passing plays with 32 of them.
When you have someone like Tyreek Hill, it’s hard not to use his lightning-quick speed to the advantage of your offense. Here’s a guy that did track his whole life, playing wide receiver, of course, you’re going to find ways to get him the ball in space.

For the Rams, they cannot allow Hill to make big plays consistently. If he does, the game could go the opposite of what the Rams want it to be.
The Chiefs and Mahomes average 8.9 yards per pass attempt (2nd in the NFL), which means the Rams need to cover the whole field at all times.
In recent weeks, the Rams defense has seemingly been susceptible to big plays, allowing guys like Tyler Lockett, Michael Thomas, Davante Adams, and Emmanuel Sanders to have their way against them.
Marcus Peters has struggled of late, forcing the Rams to play more zone defense. Until Aqib Talib returns from injured reserve, that’s likely how the Rams will overcome Peter’s struggles.
The Chiefs have plenty of guys who can hurt you with a huge play. The Rams will need to do all they can to prevent these big plays that have conquered other defenses in the NFL.
