The Baltimore Ravens are one victory away from playing in Super Bowl 58. All that is standing in their way is Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, who defeated the Buffalo Bills on the road, 27-24, in their Divisional Round matchup.

The Ravens faced off against the Houston Texans in their matchup, winning 34-10. However, the game was closer than the final score would indicate, as the teams played to a stalemate in the first half, going into intermission tied at 10.

In the second half, a veteran Baltimore squad took control of the game and came away victorious. Quarterback Lamar Jackson had the offense humming, as he had 252 combined yards and four touchdowns.

The defense did a good job of stifling a young Texans offense led by C.J. Stroud. He accomplished many incredible things during his rookie season, including defeating the Cleveland Browns during Super Wild Card Weekend. However, the Ravens proved to be too much for the up-and-coming group.

After the game, Jackson made sure to give Stroud some words of encouragement. The soon to be two-time league MVP told Stroud that this is only the start, as there is a lot of great football coming ahead in Houston.

This is the first of what could be a burgeoning rivalry between the Ravens and Texans. Baltimore has established themselves as a powerhouse in the AFC, while Houston turned their rebuild around rapidly, going from the cellar in 2022 to closer to the penthouse in 2023.

Jackson knows how difficult it is to find success in the postseason, as he lost his first two playoff games before winning a game during his third crack at it. This is the first year the Ravens have advanced to Championship Weekend, which shows just how hard it is to win in the NFL postseason.

Stroud and the Texans are hoping this is just the beginning of a successful stretch under head coach DeMeco Ryans. This has a chance to be the best era in franchise history should things continue moving on the path that has been laid this season.
