After the New York Jets seemingly waved the white flag on the season with the signing of Trevor Siemian, why didn’t they try to salvage the season with a better quarterback?

The New York Jets’ season was turned upside down in Week 1, as after four plays on offense, the team lost Aaron Rodgers for the season. It was a bit of a mixed feeling for the team, as they had one of the franchise’s best wins in years despite losing Rodgers for the season.

It was a bit surprising to see the Jets not bring in a third quarterback right after the injury to Rodgers, as the franchise seemed content with Zach Wilson and Tim Boyle. Well, as many expected in the last two weeks, the Jets haven’t looked good and Zach Wilson has struggled.

With everyone looking to run Wilson out of town, the Jets don’t have an option that replace him, which is a failure of the organization. Recently, it was discussed why the Jets might not have gone after a bigger upgrade at the position.

This is certainly something that won’t make Jets fans happy, as the team has a lot of talent on the roster besides the quarterback position. With the decision to sign Siemian, the Jets are giving up on the season, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him start some games for the team this season.

With a big primetime game coming up against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, with all eyes on the game, Wilson’s struggles will be seen on a national stage. When the nation sees how Wilson has been playing, it will lead many to wonder what the Jets were thinking about not getting a better replacement.

However, if the report is true, we now know why the Jets went with Siemian over other options.
